THE AQUARELLE GUITAR QUARTET
Launching our new season is this outstanding quartet who appeared in our opening concert 4 years ago to universal acclaim. One of Britains leading chamber groups The Aquarelle Guitar Quartet has a reputation for groundbreaking work in developing the guitar repertoire and has performed extensively across the UK and abroad. Their CD recordings for the Chandos label have received high praise, one critic remarking "this group can give the traditional string quartet a run for its money". Opening their concert tonight will be an arrangement of music by Rossini and as one might expect music from the likes of Ramirez and Piazzolla plus newer music from Philip Houghton and Carlos Rivera.
